Hey mum tell me - 2006
“She will always forgive me” says Precenta, Nisrin agrees “ To be a mother is really hard” and looks at her 8 brothers and sisters.
Four teenagers with roots in Marocco, Surinam and Turkey have produced a film together with director Anna Spohr. A film that comes across as such an open, honest and fresh story, by putting its European integration-problems back where it belongs: in the past. The girls portray their own mothers in familiar surroundings, talk politics in the kitchen and find out about their dreams while folding the laundry. The daughters are young and expose their modern freedom through dissing all boys no matter what national background. It is then that the difference between the two generations becomes obvious.
